A Fun Assignment Turns DisasterI am grading the last assignment of the semester: a review in which the student evaluate the historical worth of a movie. They critique the movie, showing where Hollywood screwed up its history, and tell me that it's still a good teaching tool.
How could it go so terribly wrong. Easy: half the class does the same film, Troy, and ignores my warning that your cannot judge its historical accuracy on the basis of its divergence from The Iliad. Luckily there are some good reviews in the batch.
